NICE is a European Human Language Technologies (HLT) project which started
on 1 March 2002 and ended in February 2005.
In the NICE project we have developed natural, fun and experientially rich
communication between humans and embodied historical and literary
characters.
With the NICE prototype systems, users can have speech and gesture
conversation with fairytale author Hans Christian Andersen and play spoken
computer games with Cloddy Hans.
Second prototype demos
In February 2005 the second and final system prototype of the Hans
Christian Andersen (HCA) study and the fairy tale world (FTW) was finished.
